Life Update! Where Have I Been?

Hello all - it's been a little while since I last posted! Not for any particular reason; I've just been busy with other things and the blog has taken a little bit of a backseat for the last few months. So I thought I would just share a few things that I've been up to and what to look out for next!

WORK
I've just passed the halfway point of my 3-year PhD which feel ridiculous to me - I can't believe how fast it has all gone! In just over a year I will (hopefully) be a doctor - and I will insist that everyone addresses me that way too (this is a joke of course, but I would never object to it either!!). It's hard work and demands a lot of brain power every single day, but I still love what I'm doing and feel privileged to be in this position.  If you're interested in keeping up with our progress on my PhD project, we also have a blog: www.sedaf18.blogspot.com

FITNESS
One thing I've really been keeping on top of this year is going to the gym and exercising regularly. I moved gyms at the beginning of the year and started at Fitness Space in Cardiff - the gym is fairly small but has such a friendly vibe and is the reason I've kept up a regular exercise regime. I actually enjoy going there (bonus!) and have made friends along the way too. I've also teamed up with a local fitness clothing brand called True Form. I am now one of their ambassadors and I really really rate their gym gear! They also feature models of all sizes which is something you rarely get from a fitness brand. If you're interested in purchasing any of their gear, you can get an additional 10% off your order with code 'CHARLI10'.

LIVING
Having lived in shared accommodation across six years (undergraduate and postgraduate), I am finally biting the bullet and moving into my own one-bed flat next month! I remember thinking as an undergraduate that I would never ever want to live on my own, but as I've got older (and hopefully wiser), I've come to really enjoy just being in my own company and I could really do with the space. I'm looking forward to this next chapter of adulthood and it just means I'll have to make more of an effort to meet up with friends so I don't become a crazy cat lady (with no cats).

SOCIAL MEDIA
Despite neglecting the blog a little, I'm still very active on social media - particularly Instagram (www.instagram.com/charli1993) - so please come by and say hi! This is where you can see more day-to-day stuff on my Stories and more curated pictures on my main feed.

BLOG
So what's next for High Street Beauty Junkie? Well, I have a few ideas in the pipeline for upcoming posts, so watch this space! I still want to provide you with student-related posts, as well as affordable fashion, beauty, days out etc. So if there is anything in particular you'd like to see, please leave me a comment below!
